Public Abstract:
The objective of this project is to design, install, and evaluate photovoltaic energy
systems. This will be done by finalizing the designs, procuring the equipment, and arranging the
installation of PV systems at two IEC facilities: the main IEC office in Ames and the BECON facility in
Nevada. Small scale tests of another PV system concept will also be performed. The results of this
project are expected to demonstrate the feasibility of operating PV systems in Iowa and to evaluate the
energy and economic performance of these systems.
