Their web site features a large amount of energy engineering information for those wishing to explore the technical aspects of energy efficiency.
California Energy Commission
The CEC is California's primary energy policy and planning agency. Their web site features press releases and reports on California's energy concerns, as well as a complete list of the CEC funded programs. They also offer learning tools for younger students in their teaching kids section.
Energy Quest - Energy Education from CEC
A fun, interactive site from the CEC geared towards younger children offering the basics of energy history, development and deployment. There are various difficulty levels as well as contests to help encourage involvement.
Center for Energy and Environmental Education
The CEEE is located on the University of Northern Iowa campus, and is an organization that covers a range of energy and environmental education programs including the Iowa Festival Recycling Project and the Iowa Energy Summit. There is also a section on fun facts and tips to help encourage involvement in energy education.
Center for Global and Regional Environmental Research
The University of Iowa's CGRER promotes research efforts that focus on the multiple aspects of global environmental change. Their web site outlines CGRER goals and offers links to research and reports done by the group on a multitude of environmental issues. Their web site also offers a section aimed towards K-12 students interested in atmospherics and related sciences.
Compressed Air Challenge
The mission of the CAC is to develop and provide resources that educate industry on the opportunities to increase productivity through compressed air system optimization. Energy Efficient Building Association
The EEBA promotes the awareness, education and development of energy efficient and environmentally responsible buildings. They offer a bookstore and case study reports to promote the education of energy efficient buildings.
Energy Kid's Page
Developed by the Energy Information Administration, with the cooperation of the National Energy Education Development Project. The site features the Energy Ant to tell kids about energy and how to use energy wisely. Visitors will find energy facts, games, energy history and classroom activities.
Energy Smart University
Funded by New York Stock Energy Research & Development Authority, Energy University teaches children through this fun and interactive web site about energy conservation and energy related issues. The University contains a variety of courses, reference materials, labs and other materials.

Geothermal Education Office

National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL)

National Energy Education Development Project (NEED)
The NEED Project is a nonprofit education association dedicated to developing and distributing comprehensive, hands-on energy education programs to schools nationwide. Students are presented with objective scientific explanations of the role of energy in society. Curriculum materials and activities are designed to promote an understanding of the economic and environmental trade-offs of energy, so that students and teachers are able to make educated decisions in the future.
The Office of Biorenewable Programs (ISU)
The Iowa State Univesity Bioeconomy Initiative develops cross-disciplinary research, education, and extension programs that promote the greater and more efficient use of biorenewable resources, and more generally, support the emergence of Iowa and Iowa State University (ISU) as leaders in the new bioeconomy.
The Science Station
A Cedar Rapids based museum that makes science and learning fun for people of all ages. This is done through an innovative approach to science learning based on hands-on interaction. There are over 130 hands-on exhibits and many educational programs to serve visitors to the museum and the web site. The museum has over 7500 square feet of exhibits on three floors and a new IMAX theatre facility.
Solar Energy International

This federal site is a very good starting point for any energy related search. They also offer a section devoted entirely to educating children on multiple aspects of energy efficiency and use.
U.S. DOE - Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Network
Offering even greater detail on renewable energy, EREN provides 600 links and 80,000 documents on bioenergy, hydrogen, ocean, wind, geothermal, hydro and solar power. They too have a section devoted entirely to encouraging and education children's involvement with energy efficiency.
Federal Energy Management Program
The FEMP initiated The You Have the Power Campaign, which helps agencies reach their energy-saving goals by raising awareness of energy efficiency activities at Federal agencies. This web site spotlights the energy saving work of agency personnel and provides material for energy awareness campaigns.
U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Programs
Though they concern themselves with every aspect of energy use, this federal web site offers a large amount of information on energy for around your home or business. Since the EPA is a regulatory agency there are also a large amount of information given on for energy standards and laws. The web site also has a children's section that encourages kids to explore their environment and learn about the neat things they can do to protect it. There are games, pictures, stories, and other fun things offered.
The Vital Signs Project
The Vital Signs Project aims to incorporate matters of building physical performance into the education of architects. The goal is to raise a fundamental awareness about the ways in which design decisions affect a building's physical performance--from energy use, to indoor environmental quality, to occupant well-being.
World Energy Efficiency Association
The World Energy Efficiency Association was founded as a private, non-profit organization composed of developed and developing country institutions charged with increasing energy efficiency. Their web site offers energy efficiency reports broken down by specific international regions and other conference reports.
