Two publications on financing energy efficiency were developed by the Iowa Association of Municipal Utilities as part of a research and demonstration project sponsored by the Iowa Energy Center.

The Financing Handbook provides information on the use of energy efficient mortgage products, including guidelines for FHA, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.

The second publication, Financing : Residential & Commercial Financing Options for Residential and Commercial Energy Efficiency explores the use of utility financing, local lender financing, and combinations of the two, to promote energy efficiency improvements in community energy management projects.
