Conference and small demonstration proposals are accepted for review on a continuous basis. The Iowa Energy Center evaluates all proposals in terms of their responsiveness to the Request for Proposal, the overall mix of proposed new and existing projects, and available financial resources. Following reviews by Energy Center staff, peer reviewers, and Energy Center Advisory Council, the grantees are selected to receive support. The Energy Center awards grants to Iowa-based, nonprofit groups to conduct energy-related research, demonstration and education projects. These projects, which range in size and complexity, are conducted throughout the state by investigators at Iowa’s three major universities, colleges, community colleges and at nonprofit energy organizations and community-based educational groups.
