Energy efficiency in the home is a family matter. The appliances used, thermostat settings, insulation and occupant habits all play a role in the amount of energy used at home. The Iowa Energy Center offers the Home Series for everyday energy saving tips and is committed to supporting research and demonstration with practical residential energy efficiency impact.

Iowa Weatherization Challenge
Every winter Iowans prepare to face high home heating bills. Several statewide groups have come together to create the Iowa Weatherization Challenge. Local community organizations are being asked to recruit volunteers and seek donations to help weatherize homes for low-income families, the elderly and disabled individuals and others needing assistance in their community.
